South Central Zone Curling Regulations 1. All members of a rink must meet A.S.A.A. eligibility and registration regulations. 2. High school students who advance to the Provincial Junior Mens or Provincial Junior Women's championships are eligible to compete in S.C.Z. curling competitions in the same school year. See A.S.A.A. policy manual on division of provincial Junior teams amongst school teams. 3. A high school student is eligible to play on one representative school team only. 4. There will be three zone competitions: Boys, Girls, and Mixed. 5. Each rink will consist of five students (boys and girls) and six students in the mixed curling. 6. The teams shall compete with four a side. In mixed curling, a rink shall be composed of two girls and two boys with girls and boys alternating at various team positions. 7. All games will be eight ends duration with a Coachs break after the fourth end.(Spring 2003) 8. Competition in each classification; boys, girls, and mixed, shall be as per A.S.A.A. rules. Shall be a regular two-event elimination curling draw. 9. Competition will be held as a two day event. The event will have 2 pools with a semi-final cross over, similar to provincial play.(Spring 2003) 10. The rules governing curling shall be the rules of the Canadian Curling Association. 11. The A.S.A.A. rules governing competition will be observed with the exception of those previously stated. 12. The host has the option of filling any gaps in the tournament first before getting teams from other districts. 13. Curling has 7 areas and a host.
